First and foremost, I’d like to wish you all a happy Thanksgiving! I’m up in New Jersey with my girlfriend for a few days before we head down to Walt Disney World for two days. I hope everyone is having as enjoyable a time with their loved ones as I am.
This post is sort of Thanksgiving-related: I am thankful for the friends I’ve made in the Disney community, especially from twitter. One of these friends is Noah, who made the first part of this post possible. I was attending a briefing Noah held in Orlando for Noah U, when Noah invited his friends to hang out at House of Blues afterward. When we got to Downtown Disney, Noah was pulled into the Festival of the Masters Preview event. Never the type of guy to let people down, Noah invited the two of us into the Preview as guests of his. The first gallery below is of the Preview – I had a great time at this event meeting most of the artists in the Disney Artist Village and enjoying great desserts made fresh by Disney chefs.
The second gallery is of the Festival of the Masters event itself. The pictures are in order from the Village Marketplace to the West Side. There was no possible way I could take pictures of everything. I kept it mostly to Disney-related art and also the chalk art on the sidewalks – I don’t know why, but I absolutely love chalk art… Probably the same side of me that loves Banksy coming out.
Many of the pictures are deliberately distorted so that people who may wish to produce their own discount versions of these works will have an uphill battle. Pictures were taken with my iPhone 5 and Canon 6D, using several different lenses. Processing was done in Aperture for OS X.
Happy Thanksgiving and enjoy!
