Festival of Fantasy Parade

Welcome, friends of all things fantastic and festive!

Today I share with you 289 photos from Walt Disney World’s newest parade: Festival of Fantasy and I also give you a chance to win a little bit of the magic yourself!

Make sure you head over to @MouseontheMind‘s site for her thoughts on this new parade as well as a video of the parade taken by yours truly (be nice, it was my first ever video shoot, and I’m clearly in need of practice :) ).

Before you scroll down to see all the pictures, I want to offer you the chance to win a little piece of this beautiful new parade! From the pictures below, pick out your favorite float or costume and tweet it with the link to this article and the hashtag #FestivalOfPics for a chance to win a park map and times guide from the parade’s opening day and a professional print of the picture of your choice from this post mailed to you! I will randomly select five winners at 9:00pm eastern on Friday 3/14/2014. You may tweet an entry up to once per day, for a total of five entries by Friday.

A sample tweet would look like this: “I love Peter and Wendy in the pirate ship at http://atdisneyagain.com/2014/03/10/festival-of-fantasy-parade/ #FestivalOfPics!” or “Maleficent’s minions are the best costumes at http://atdisneyagain.com/2014/03/10/festival-of-fantasy-parade/ #FestivalOfPics”

Time for pics! All were taken with my Canon 6D using a 24-105mm F4L lens and processed in Aperture for OS X. A quick note to those who notice that there’s a bit of motion blur (which is strange for bright-light shooting): I read ahead of time that this parade featured a lot of motion and kinetic floats, so I made sure to shoot with a somewhat slower shutter (1/125) to really capture that movement and emotion for those who couldn’t be there.

Hope you enjoy, and GOOD LUCK!
